TIME FOR CHANGE
RANGE strives to reinvent the workplace
for academia, medicine, STEM and
corporate America.
Mission
RANGE’s mission is to support research, education, and advocacy projects to help improve gender equity in the workplace and society at large. RANGE strives to advocate for policies both at the national and state level that support working parents, caregivers, LGBTQ rights, and reproductive choice.
Vision
Through RANGE’s work, we hope to create a more equitable culture. We can learn from the struggles and disruptions caused by the pandemic and reinvent how academic departments and companies promote and evaluate their workforce. We can destigmatize caregiving and recognize that it’s an important priority at all stages of a successful career . RANGE strives to promote a better work/life balance for everyone.

Lauren Kornreich Shawn
Founder, Executive Director
Lauren K. Shawn is an emergency medicine physician in the New York City metro area. She is also a board certified medical toxicologist. She has spent the past several years working on gender equity issues within emergency medicine and medical toxicology and has spoken extensively about how the pandemic has disproportionately affected mothers including an appearance on the Today Show. She now wants to expand that work to other fields and professions. It is her hope that RANGE’s work will help others avoid the struggles she faced navigating an advancing career and a growing family.
Lauren lives in Westchester County, NY with her two amazing sons, two dogs, and an incredibly supportive husband.
